Tears of Celestial Dust

Rushing wind lifts my hair
I feel it caress my skin
I'm soaring high with wings anew.
Despite alone again.

I've been to every planet
And walked the Milky Way
Skated the rings of Saturn
On Pluto I learned to play.

I find I don't need any one
To explore the stars with me
When at night I sail along
A blue and endless sea.

And when I climb the hills of Moon
To stand and gaze at Earth
The icy chill that settles deep
Freezes out the burning hurt.

No longer do I search the skies
For something that doesn't exist
Love is for the lucky few
And I've learned to live without it.

So every night I fly alone
On wings I've come to trust
And if you see a falling star
Its tears mixed with celestial dust.
