Yesterday's dreams are of the past.
I believe some dreams aren't meant to last.
Like lonely echoes in the wind
Those come around time and again.
As time grows older its more precious each day
Some dreams I'm glad never came my way.
For I would have missed on the long trek home
Such beauty I found as I walked alone.
Of course there are dreams I've yet to give up
For then I wouldn't have learned how to love.
Walls that I'd built hadn't crumbled down
A bitter heart would surely be found.
Life has not been easy this I can say
Trials and troubles made what I am today.
Betrayal and heartache can leave a terrible stain
And a heart could get swallowed by this brutal pain.
But like an eagle that flies into a storm
Channeling might into a strength that's reborn.
To majestically soar on powerful wings.
Brings the soul closer to the maker of things.
So Yesterday's dreams are of the past
But hope everlasting holds me fast.
Today my dreams are closer to heart
To reach out and touch therefore doing my part.
For life is a tapestry of a colorful weave
But the finished look is not yet to be seen.
Until the threads are knotted and tied
Then at the last breath I can say I have tried.
