Mirror Lake by Linda S Burger

Mirror Lake is a secret inside
A hidden place in this heart of mine.
Where I can sit and find serenity
Here I feel my spirit release.

Time has no power or hold over me
For in this place I simply be.
As the water ripples across the way
Mirrored reflections come out to play.

I see the clouds and birds of the air
A drift on the water I am there.
Weightlessly floating on water so clean
This place in my mind no one can see.

When I feel renewed and it's time to leave
I know it’s there any time I need.
When life gets too big and fences me in
I close my eyes and take a swim.

Merging my essence with purity
One with nature wild and free.
I allow only those that understand
A welcome view of uninhibited land.

To escape for a time life as it is
Into this place of utter bliss
Enjoying the beauty that is so fine
This wonderful place inside my mind.
