Time for a Memory

If I could gaze into your eyes
And see your cheerful smile
To grasp your hand and feel the warmth
Time to spend with you a while.

If for a day to walk the beach
To play and laugh out loud.
Watching waves caress our feet.
Dream of soaring with the clouds

If only we could find the time
To eat a quiet dinner and sip on wine.
Listen to music from days gone by
As candles burn late in the night.

If in our busy scheduled lives
We waste an evening and reach for the sky
Making wishes on falling stars
And visit planets beyond and far.

If only there were such a way
To watch the sun rise on a brand new day.
As the morning awakens from the dawn
The birds would sing a sweet love song.

Ah, but this is but a silly dream
To steal away just you and me.
For life it seems to spin by fast
And days slip on into the past.

So just tonight I write for you
And make this memory for us two.
For in my mind we do these things
And find the joy in which it brings.
