Guardians of the Forest

Destruction called construction
Civilization destroys cultivation
And the struggle of Mother Nature
Is laid waste in progress favor.

Yet still the Fairies guard
Unseen by human eye,
Drifting through the deepest realms
To ease the Earth's sad cry.

Tending to the blessings
That lay in soil soft,
Touching and healing
To replace what has been lost.

Deep inside a wooded place
The Fairy Kingdom lives
Guardians of the forest
Where life is such a gift.

And though I've never seen them
I know they must exist
For when I walk in nature
I feel magic despite the rift.

For long ago before my time
Fairies roamed the land
They are part of nature
And kindly shared with man.

But then a promise broken
Man took more than they should
Now the Fairies guard the forest
What is left of nature's wood.
