The sound of the river rushing by
Rustling leaves on trees up high.
I hear a creature run away.
As I do my part on this Earth Day.
I walk along the river bank
Picking up litter and other trash.
I'm giving back to Mother Earth
It is a way that I can serve.

It makes me sad to see this waste.
And see the scars upon her face.
On this blue globe that we call Earth
We live and breathe so what's she worth?
How about recycle not throw away?
And care for the land where you live and play.
Enjoy her bounty without greed.
Replanting in faith with every seed.

Lets try harder to keep her clean.
Plant some flowers perhaps a tree.
Adopt a river that needs some care
And maybe others will do their share.
For generations yet to come
A legacy to what we've done.
Depends upon how we live today
Its in our hands lets lead the way.
