Two Worlds

You have your life and I have mine
We travel in separate paths
Somehow through the space in time
We found each other at last.

Then the search was over.
For love's elusive dream
Finding hope where none had been
Seemed real to you and me.

And for awhile we shared our worlds.
As we gazed in each other's eyes
For a moment to see
What might have been
If in another place in time.

Still the words go unspoken
No need to wonder why
Though blessed in the knowing
That love has been so kind.

That for a time I had a view
What love was truly like.
Wishing life was different
No matter wrong or right.

Yes, tender were the moments
In the orbit to the sun
Even though we always knew
We'd never be as one.

Though fond are the memories
Alone that we had shared.
Somehow to be enough
To know you're still out there.
