The Road Home

I wish that things were different
And it wasn't so hard to change,
But here we are at cross roads
Where nothing will be the same.

For who am I to challenge the way,
As the path before me lies.
I know there'll be times of happiness
Right along with the tears that I cry.

I will travel the road before me
As it was destined from the start.
To walk the way that I began,
For it's the path that leads to my heart.

Still there is a certain constant;
If in case I walk alone.
I will always love you.
As I walk the road to home.

I will not ever forget you,
If you choose a different way.
But I can't help but wonder,
Will my memory with you remain?

And if by chance we meet again;
Should our paths ever cross.
Would you extend a loving hand?
Or will I suffer a terrible loss.

With all these thoughts I ponder
I can't help but believe,
There is a greater power
That is in charge of you and me.
