I will make the lives of your creation more important than mine.
I will allow your humans to abuse me and I will not retaliate.
I will love your humans with every drop of blood in my body.

I will forgive their cruelty to me and will take their deserved punishment.
I will stand between supreme holiness and offer myself as their sacrifice.
I will accept their guilt so they can be released from eternal suffering.

I will hold them in the palms of my hands.
I will hold their dreams
As gently as a new mother holds a newborn child.
I will comfort them when they are afraid.

I will provide for them and will not refuse them any good thing.
I will encourage, love, and give myself to your people.
I will listen with a love so great
That they will have a hard time comprehending it.

I will place the welfare of your helpless ones above my own.
I will leave the pleasures and treasures of heaven
To earn their trust on earth.

I will continue to love and care for your people
Centuries after my time on earth is past,
For your people are my people.
My life is theirs.

When life is difficult for them,
I will be their champion,
Their savior,
Their rest, their comfort,
And their peace.
