One candle glowed in the darkened room
Fragments of light dispelled the gloom
In hopes that should you happen by
Find I'm waiting here at home.

Yes, if you are wondering
My thoughts on you remain
I know we have differences, but
I love you all the same.

Every night the candle burns
Incase you've lost your way
The light defies the darkness
And every night for you I pray.

That maybe you would come to me
And have a smile on your face.
That maybe on just this night
I'd feel your warm embrace.

So if by chance you happen by
And see the candle glow
Let's give it just one more try,
It's not good to be alone.
