The fishing poles were propped and set,
With bobbers on the line,
And with the freshest worms attached,
We'd offer fish to dine.
Then as the darkness falls about,
I light a lantern's glow,
Then cuddled close we watch the sky,
As stars begin their show.

Then as a shooting star streaks by,
My fishing thoughts are through,
Because your image captures me,
And all I see is you.

And so I snuggle closer yet,
Then kiss you tenderly,
And now here in this evening light,
Your form is all I see.

Here in the dimming lantern light,
Your hair so soft and red,
Still shimmers with delightful scent,
And keeps my passion fed.

Oh, this must be what heaven's like,
With you and stars above,
Surrounded by such loveliness,
And feeling all this love.
