Country Side

One day I took a detoured route,
And missed my turning point.
I was lost on a country road,
And didn't have a clue.

I pulled over to stretch my legs,
Then I saw this awesome sight.
Hidden among the lush green leaves.
A little creek resides.

There I found a sudden peace,
As I watched the water flow.
So quiet was the nature sounds,
Like I had never known.

In this place untouched by man,
Time made no sense at all.
I felt reluctant to pull away,
For it fed my hungering soul.

I knew now I was not lost,
But to this place was led.
And found a source of comfort,
For I was natures guest.

I know one day I will return,
To this secret place revealed.
And feel again the soothing peace
There in my soul is healed.
