Tossed at Sea

The waves come crashing against the rocks.
To release a mighty force.
I ponder and watch the scene,
As I try to make it to shore.

Closer now I feel the storm,
As the dark clouds roll above.
Churning waves and angry swells,
Toss my little boat.

My body leans against the wind
As I battle to lower the sail.
My body aches and screams for rest,
But, I defy the odds of death.

"Let me be!" I shout to the sky,
As I challenge the grip of the sea.
I close my eyes and say a prayer.
And hope tomorrow I see.
