Night Dancer

Ever so quietly
She tiptoed outside.
To waltz on the grass
In the still of the night.
Darkness enveloped her
In its embrace.
As she gazed in wonder
At the stars up in space.

Sweet was the fragrance
That filled the night.
From flowers that bloomed
Under the moon's glowing light.
Softly cadenced
Played the crikets song.
Its lullaby moved
Her to dance along.

Like rising mist
She floated on air,
And opened her arms
For her lover to share.
Then under the moonbeam
She twirled in delight.
As it caressed the night dancer
With it's magical light.
