There's a kind of hush in the air,
As daytime changes into evening wear.
The stars are like diamonds,
Against a velvet gown.
And the mist like a cloak covers the ground.
Softly the waltz of nature begins.
Like a lulabye from start to end.
The senery changes and shadows grow.
From familiar shapes to things I don't know.
I hear the creatures that come out at night.
As I watch the bats swoop in graceful flight.
A gentle breeze ruffles the trees.
That host the birds that are fast asleep.
Peace fills my soul as I lay the day to rest.
Soaking in nature's elegant dress.
Enveloped in darkness I quietly stand.
And listen to the night sounds
That come across the land.
